Divergent Boundaries
First of all, Divergent Boundaries are created when two plates move apart/away/separate from each other. Underneath, Magma from the Mantle beneath the Crust, is rising to the surface to cool and become solid at the plate boundary. This boundary is thought to be "Constructive", since new crust is formed. When divergent (move apart) is taking place at a boundary of the Oceanic plates, it is forming new sea floor. This process is known as Sea-floor spreading! Sea-floor spreading happens along a divergent boundary. Did you know that If a Divergent boundary occurs between the Oceanic plates they create a Mid-Oceanic ridge? A mid-oceanic ridge is a place where the Tectonic Plates are moving apart and while that is happening Magma is rising to fill up the gap. Volcanic eruptions may occur. The not-so-deep magma is providing a heat source, creating sea-floor spreading along the ridges. They then transport heat and chemicals into the ocean!
