Igneous Rocks
IGNEOUS ROCKS AND HOW THEY ARE FORMED:
Igneous rocks are also known as fire rocks.they
are formed either above (extrusive) or under (intrusive)
the ground/earth's surface. If the Lava is formed underground
its also known as Magma. When the Magma becomes trapped in small pockets
underground it is then cooled and formed into Igneous Rock! Igneous
rocks are also formed above the ground. When a volcano erupts
the Magma rises above the earth's surface. When Magma is on
the earth's surface it is then called Lava! Igneous rocks
are also formed when the Lava (Magma) cools above ground
Igneous Rock : Form when hot Magma or Lava cools
and becomes solid. (divided into 2 groups depending
on where the rock was cooled.)
Magma :melted rock found deep below Earth's Crust,
where temperatures and pressures are high.
Lava :Molten rock on Earth's surface.
Extrusive Rock :Formed by hardened Lava.
