There are 6 clues/characteristics to identifying a rock or
mineral.
The 6 clues are :
- Hardness-A measure of the Mineral's resistance to being
scratched.
- Lustre - The shineness or Lustre of a Mineral depends on
how light reflects from its surface.A.K.A Metallic and non metallic.
- Colour- The important physical properties of a mineral
- streak-The mark that is left behind when a mineral is rubbed
against a porcealin tile.
- Crystal Structure-It has straight edges flat sides and regular angles.
- Cleavage and Fracture- The way a mineral breaks apart, if its broken with rough or jagged edges its said to have fracture.
